Executive Committee Maximiano
Atria _Architect, Catholic University of
Chile 1999. He has collaborated with the office of Rodrigo Pérez de Arce and
specially in the project for the remodelation of the Main Square of Santiago
between 1998 and 2001, and in 2001 at the office Carlos Alberto Cruz &
Associates. During the period 2000-2001 was Studio Associate Professor at the
School of Architecture of the Catholic University. Since 2006 maintains an
independent practice and is teaches at the Catholic and Andrés Bello
Universities, in Santiago. Fernando
Pérez O. _Architect, Catholic University of
Chile 1977, and Ph.D. from the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Arquitectura since
1981. He has been Professor of Architecture at the PUC since 1974. He was
Visiting Professor at GSD Harvard University, and Simon Bolivar Professor of
Latin american Studies at the University of Cambridge. He was also visiting
professor in several chilean an foreign universities. His research works have
been related mainly with issues about theory and history of the architectural
project. He is co-author of books on architecture among them the well known
“Le Corbusier and South America”. His articles have been published in chilean
and foreign magazines. He was Director of the School of Architecture and Dean
of the Architecture Faculty of the Catholic University of Chile (PUC). Currently
in charge of the Heritage Programme and the website patrimoniochile.com. He
was keynote speaker at one of the main lectures at the VI International
DOCOMOMO Conference held in Brasilia, 2000. Horacio
Torrent _He was born in Argentina, and
established in Chile in 1994. He graduated in Architecture at the National
University at Rosario – Argentina in 1985. He is Magister in Architecture
from the Catholic University in Santiago and Ph.D. candidate from the
National University in Rosario. He also studied conservation and restoration
at the UNESCO and Argentinean Council for Monuments and Sites Programme in
1985, and at the Social Science Postgraduate Programm of the Latin American
Faculty of Social Science (FLACSO) in Buenos Aires in 1987-89. He was ARIAH
Fellowship in 1997, and he has developed research on modern architecture at
the Canadian Centre for Architecture, at the Getty Institute for the Arts and
the Humanities, and at the National Gallery of Arts in Washington. He has
taught at several universities in Argentina, Chile, Brasil, and Venezuela. He
has worked as PNUD- UNESCO Consultant on Restoration of Monuments. He has
published several essays and works on architecture, landscape and urbanism of
the 20th. Century. He was, between 1996 and 2001, Coordinator of the first
Information and Documentation Centre specialiced on Modern Architecture in
Chile. He also has developed a professional practice and has entered various
national and international architectural competitions, by himself or in
colaboration. He has colaborated with Mathias Klotz between 1996 and 2000. He
is currently Professor at the School of Architecture and Sub-Director of
Research and Postgraduate Studies at the at the Catholic University in Santiago.
Andrés
Téllez _He was born in Colombia and
established in Chile in 1992. He graduated in Architecture at the Los Andes
University in Bogota, 1987. He is Magister in Architecture at the Catholic
University of Chile in 1995. He worked in the firms of Rogelio Salmona, Willy
Drews, Pedro Murtinho, Humberto Eliash and Manuel Moreno. He is Assistant
Professor at the Magister in Architecture Programme at the PUC since 2001 and
he also teaches at the Diego Portales University and Andres Bello National
University in Chile. He has lectured at several latinamerican countries such
as Argentina, Colombia and Chile and published works about Latin American
modern and contemporary architecture. Active Members (The

University. Renato D’alençon _Arquitect, Catholic University of Chile. Humberto Eliash _ Architect form the
University of Chile in 1975. He stablished the office Eliash Arquitects Ltda.
dedicated to institutional and publics buildings and urban projects and
studies. Studio Adjunct Professor at the School of Architecture of the
University of Chile. He has published with Manuel Moreno (+), the famous
"Arquitectura y Modernidad en Chile 1925-1965" (1989), the first
book on modern architecture in Chile. He published also "Fernando
Castillo V. " (1990), “Cristián Boza: Un Eclecticismo Apasionado"
(1993) y “Carlos Martner, Arquitectura y Paisaje” 2003, and essays and works
in differents reviews of Europe and the Americas. Former editor of ARS –a
journal of architecture appeared in chile during the eighties. He is a
founder member of the SAL Latin American Seminars on Architecture. He
lectures frecuently on Modern architecture in chile, at several universities
in Latin America. Claudio Galeno _Arquitect, Universidad
Católica del Norte (UCN), Antofagasta, Chile, 1997; Master of History, Art,
Architecture and City: In-corporeal: Body Architectured, ETSAB,
Polytechnic University of Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, 2001; candidate to PhD
in Architecture Theory and History: Anathomic Theatres, ETSAB, UPC,
2001-2005. From 1997 was teacher at the Architecture Department, FACIC,
Universidad Católica del Norte. At the moment he is the Official Teacher in
the First Year Architecture Workshop and Cultural Activities Manager. During
1999-2000 he was assistant teacher of architect Max Aguirre at the History
courses at UCN. He has contributed in Antofagasta for the Salim Rabi and
Alfonso Raposo research: Urban Space and Ideology. The Paradigm of the
Housing Corporation of the Chilean Architecture. 1953-1976. Presentation
about the Modern Architecture of Antofagasta in the TV Program Desert Zone,

Compilation.” (2005). Hugo Mondragón _Arquitect, UPC,
Colombia. Master in Architecture, Catholic University
of Chile. Master in History and Theory of Art and Architecture UNAL,
Colombia. Has received awards for public competitions organized by the
Colombian Society of Arcgitects (S.C.A). Invited lecturer in Chilean and
Colombian Universities. Author of several articles in Chile and Colombia, and
co-author of the book Arquitectura y Construcción – Chile, 1945-1950, edited
by the Central University, Santiago. Currently hold the position of Head of
the Master in Architecture Program at the Catholic University of Chile. Paula Suzuki _Arquitect, Finis
Terrae University, 2003. She is presently attending the Master in
Architectonic Restoration at the SEK University, Santiago, and works as an
independent architect. Luis Valenzuela._Architect, Catholic
